3. Darius Slayton reaches the end zone

Injuries have led to this Giants receiving core looking vastly different than many expected they would at the start of the season. Sterling Shepard, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Collin Johnson are all out for the year and Kadarius Toney now plays for a different team. Along with this, Kenny Golladay has once again played far below expectations, to the point that he is struggling to see the field.

In turn, Darius Slayton, who was nearly released in the offseason, has flown up the depth charts. He is now the go-to target for Daniel Jones and the Giants aerial attack. On the season, Slayton has been targeted 55 times, resulting in 35 receptions for 608 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is currently fifth in the NFL in yards per reception, as he is averaging 17.4.

The last time that Slayton lined up against the Commanders secondary, he put on one of his better games of the season. Jones targeted Slayton eight times, leading to the pass-catcher hauling in six receptions for 90 receiving yards. This includes a 55-yard reception in crunch time.

On the season, Slayton has reached the end zone just twice and he hasn’t scored in four games. But, that could change on Sunday night.
