4 bold predictions for the NY Giants vs. Commanders on Sunday Night Football

2. Saquon Barkley bounces back
Saquon Barkley started the 2022 season off in a big way. Over the first four games, he rushed for 463 yards and two touchdowns. Through the air, he added 12 receptions for 117 receiving yards. Since then, he has rushed for 100 or more yards in a game just twice.
Over the last four games he has taken the field, Barkley has struggled to find success. He has totaled just 152 yards and two touchdowns on 53 carries over this stretch. Some of these struggles can be attributed to a neck injury and a lack of protection around him.
Barkley has shown on several occasions this season that he is still the elite player that many thought he would be. Now two years removed from a torn ACL, he has rushed for 1,083 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. He currently ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards and tied for 10th in rushing touchdowns.
Now, in a must-win game, Barkley could be set to contribute in a big way. In his last meeting against the Commanders, he rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries. While this defense has been strong against the run this season, they haven’t been perfect.
If the Giants can establish their passing game, opportunities could open up for Barkley on the ground. This could lead to a strong outing from the Giants star running back.
