Watch Brian Daboll deliver fiery words to Daniel Jones in middle of win over Washington
This is what everyone who supports the NY Giants loves seeing. Remember how Joe Judge used to provide just about zero energy on the sidelines last year? Yeah, that’s no longer that case now that the one and only Brian Daboll is running the show for the G-Men. This guy is amped up at all times and it’s incredible to see.
Take the win over Washington for example. Daboll was fired up and he had a close eye on the play of quarterback Daniel Jones, like always. After Jones led the Giants on a big scoring drive, Daboll was speaking to his offense, but then had to take a break to make sure he let Danny Dimes know how proud he was. He did so in typical Daboll fashion.

That video right there is just awesome. Daboll couldn’t be happier to see Jones step up in primetime. Entering the showdown vs. the Commanders, Jones was 0-9 in hs primetime contests. He played a strong game vs. Washington, doing more than enough with his arm and wheels to help the G-Men come out on top.
"“Well, give Daniel credit, first and foremost,” Daboll said of Jones on Tuesday. “He’s an extremely hard worker. I think he understands what we’re trying to accomplish each week. Every week, it’s a little bit different. But he works extremely hard. He studies. He understands the teams that we’re playing, and he makes good decisions for what we ask him to do. Last week was a little bit different than the week before. He’s taking care of the football. He’s done a good job.”"
Jones is never going to light up the box score, which was once again the case in the victory over Washington. He posted 160 passing yards and 35 more yards on the ground. However, the former No. 6 overall pick showed some major stones and delivered with some massive throws. This included his toss to Richie James on 4th-and-9, helping set up a TD run by Saquon Barkley.
Jones is far from perfect, but he continues to show general manager Joe Schoen that he’s deserving of a new deal. Imagine if Jones had a true WR1 to throw to – he’d be looking way better out there. Jones has taken a big step forward in 2022 and he without question has the full support of Daboll.
