2. Rookie pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux

With the No. 5 overall pick, the New York Giants select Kavyon Thibodeaux out of Oregon. When we first heard that last April, no one knew just how good this young man could be for the squad’s defense. Thibodeaux missed the first part of the season due to a knee injury, and despite not posting the sacks we were hoping to see, he has been incredibly disruptive.

Thibodeaux, as you all know, had his best game of the fall in Week 15 going up against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field. That showing is something that’s going to haunt people in the Washington D.C area for a while, as Kayvon was incredible. How good? Well, he had 12 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and his touchdown. Boom.

Thibodeaux was so damn good in that contest, there was no doubt that he would be named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. That’s surely the first of many honors for Thibodeaux in his young career. This is just the start for the former Pac-12 superstar. More good things are no question on the way for Thibodeaux and we can’t wait to see him reach his fullest potential.
