Following the NY Giants massive Week 15 victory over the Washington Commanders, it seems as if the playoffs sure are within reach. Despite this, the Giants still face some tough opponents and need to come out with one or more victories to fully guarantee their first playoff berth since 2016.

The Giants enter this week facing off against the Minnesota Vikings, who are coming off a game in which they pulled off the biggest comeback in NFL history. Despite this, it is not wise to write off the Giants, who have proven time and time again that they can compete with some of the top teams in the league. Here’s four reasons the Giants can get things done:

4. The Vikings defense is no match for a rejuvenated Saquon Barkley

After a rough couple of games, we finally saw NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley return to top form against the Commanders, as he ran the ball 18 times for 87 yards and a touchdown. Barkley absolutely dominated in the fourth quarter, just about winning the game for the Giants.

This version of Barkley has looked like the best running back in the NFL, but has been missing in the Giants last four games.

Entering the Giants tough Week 16 matchup against the Vikings, Barkley must be at his best. While the Vikings don’t have an elite run defense, it is certainly no joke, ranking 15th in rushing yards allowed and 14th in rushing TDs allowed.

However, if Barkley is playing at the elite level we saw him play at last week, the defense he plays against will not matter. In addition to this, the offensive line of the Giants looked much improved vs. Washington, so hopefully they manage to keep this level of play up.

It has been a roller coaster campaign for Barkley, however, as the regular season comes to an end, we’re sure he will manage to return to elite form as the Giants look to make a potential playoff run.
