If Azeez Ojulari could stay healthy, he’d be one of the best pass-rushers in the game year-round. It’s been so hard for him to stay on the field, though, and now the NY Giants coaching staff has to worry about his ankle. Ojulari was looking sharp against the Vikings on Saturday, posting a first-half sack of Kirk Cousins.

However, soon after that, No. 51 was carted back to the locker room and he looked totally dejected. It has since been announced that Ojulari is questionable to return with an ankle injury. The fact that he couldn’t even walk back on his own sure is worrisome. Everyone is now keeping their fingers crossed this isn’t anything too serious.

NY Giants pass-rusher Azeez Ojulari dealing with an ankle issue

Since his return from injury earlier this season, Ojulari has been a total monster. Unfortunately, he has missed most of the campaign, but that still hasn’t stopped him from being a beast in the trenches for defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. Ojulari has 5.5 sacks to his name in 2022. That tells you how dominant he has been.

With Kayvon Thibodeaux and Ojulari being quite the duo, the NY pass-rush has been so much fun to watch in recent weeks. These two are beasts together. Add in Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence, and you’ve really got an impressive group of guys up front.

However, the issue for the Giants has been to keep this group together on the gridrion. Due to injuries, we’ve barely seen all four grinding next to one another, which has been frustrating to see. Now, we’ll hope to see there’s nothing too big to worry about with Ojulari.

The Giants defense can’t afford to have him miss more action. Stay tuned to see what comes from this latest negative news on Ojulari. He’s incredibly valuable for this squad.
