3. P Jamie Gillan

It’s been a rough few weeks for punter Jamie Gillan. While Gillan has had some bright moments this year, he has been incredibly inconsistent and that continued this past weekend as well. Gillan did have a very nice 61-yard punt, but that was about it for him. He had a 28-yard punt too, but that wasn’t the only low point for him.

Most notably from this game was the blocked punt recorded by Minnesota. Yes, the Vikings defender got through the line relatively easily, but Gillan must have the awareness to either get the ball away faster, or tuck and run. Seriously, he can’t just let this happen.

On the year, this isn’t the only crucial mistake Gillan has made on special teams, as he notably muffed the snap during a punt against the Eagles. Again, Gillan has had some moments where he looked like a tremendous punter, arguably one of the better ones in the league, but his inconsistencies have left us scratching our heads too many times this fall and winter.
