2. CB Cor’Dale Flott

Obviously there is still plenty of time for Cor’Dale Flott to turn things around, but the 2022 season has not been very kind to the rookie. In 135 coverage snaps over eight games, Flott has allowed 13 catches on 17 targets for 149 yards and a TD.

Rookie corners usually struggle, and considering that Flott hasn’t been used properly this season, we aren’t too worried about the 21 year old. Flott was drafted to be a nickel corner, however, due to several injuries in the secondary, he has been forced to step outside and be put into positions he was never really used to.

Despite this, Flott had a chance to turn around his rookie season and make a game-altering play in the third quarter. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins threw a pass directly into Flott’s hands, and despite grabbing the ball, Flott managed to somehow let the ball come loose, thus making it incomplete.

After Flott dropped this game-changing interception, the Vikings would go on to score and take the lead 17-13. If Flott managed to catch the pass he was literally given, the Giants have a much higher chance of winning this game.

Simple mistakes such as this, the James drop, and the Gillan blocked punt hurt the Giants more than anything. They must clean these mistakes up come playoff time, or else things could get very ugly.
