3. Washington and Seattle must lose

In the second scenario, the Commanders and Seahawks would BOTH need to lose in Week 17. Starting with Seattle, they’ve got a home showdown with the New York Jets. Hey, maybe our neighbors will do us a favor here? The good news for the Jets is that Zach Wilson won’t be starting. Instead, the Mike White Show is back in our lives.

White has missed some time due to injury, but he’s been cleared and ready to roll in this one. White has looked strong when under center, but there’s nothing quite like playing in front of the wild fans in Seattle. The Jets will have their hands full trying to record a win over the Hawks at Lumen Field, but they could certainly come out victorious.

Meanwhile for Washington, quarterback Taylor Heinicke looked awful against the 49ers in Week 16. He was so bad in the second half, head coach Ron Rivera pulled him for Carson Wentz. This weekend, the Commanders will take on the Cleveland Browns at FedEx Field. Washington also will have a tough time facing the Browns.
