4 reasons the NY Giants will hammer the Colts and clinch a playoff berth

2. Differing Motivations

Like I mentioned earlier, it is more beneficial for the Colts to lose football games. Conversely, these young Giants are hungry and desperate to play on football’s grandest stage. Eight of the Giants 10 captains have never made the playoffs, and they will all play with their hair on fire Sunday in order to destroy that statistic.

Jones, Saquon Barkley, Xavier McKinney, Andrew Thomas, Leonard Williams, and Dexter Lawrence are undoubtedly the Giants six best players, and none of them have ever been on an NFL team that finished with a winning record.

Winning this weekend will ensure the Giants finish the 2022 season with a winning record for the first time since 2016. This weekend will be a culmination of all the work those six players have put in to get to this point. They will all have even bigger chips on their shoulders this weekend than usual, and will collectively make a statement that not only will the Giants be in the dance, they will be a serious threat.
