4 NY Giants who completely exceeded expectations in the regular season
2. Quarterback Daniel Jones
We can not talk about the Giants 2022 season without Daniel Jones being at the forefront of the conversation. Daboll was highly praised for his work in Buffalo as offensive coordinator and his role in developing Josh Allen into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Daboll has managed to bring the best out of Jones this season, and now it looks as If the No. 6 overall pick from the 2019 NFL Draft will be the Giants franchise quarterback going forward.
Entering Week 18, Jones has 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, five interceptions and has a quarterback rating of 60.4, which is the fifth-highest in the league. No player has done more with less this season than the Giants fourth-year quarterback, and that is an impressive accomplishment considering the lack of talented weapons Jones has to throw to.
Schoen will have the difficult task of negotiating a deal with Jones this offseason. A good problem to have considering his 2022 breakout season. To say Jones has exceeded expectations would be an understatement – he’s overcome everything thrown at him this campaign. Giants fans are thrilled to see the hard work ethic finally start to pay off.
