This was a pretty weird flex from Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Darius Slay. In Week 18, Philly was able to lock down the No. 1 seed after they beat the NY Giants 22-16, taking down mostly backups. Goodness, Davis Webb nearly powered the G-Men to an upset win over a team that’s expected to compete for a Super Bowl.

The Eagles and their supporters were brought back down to earth, but apparently Slay felt like he needed to stick it to the Giants for some strange reason. Shortly after the final whistle on Sunday, Slay dug up an old tweet where NY announced they had released James Bradberry. He then took a jab at his NFC East rivals. Alrighty then?

Eagles CB Darius Slay trolling the NY Giants was a silly move

Why in the heck would Slay post this on Sunday night? This also came after he did the unthinkable, and allowed Kenny Golladay to ‘Moss’ him in Week 18. Golladay entered the contest without ever scoring for the Giants, but he recorded one of the touchdowns of the season with his incredible grab going up against Slay. Giants fans are reminding him all about that.

It was one hell of a grab from Golladay, and it came against ‘Big Play Slay.’ Had the Eagles dominated the Giants, covered the spread and Bradberry recorded a pick-six against his former team, then sure, we’d understand Slay wanting to stir the pot a bit in going after Big Blue. However, his timing was way off.

This Giants-Eagles rivalry never disappoints, as these two teams and their fans don’t like one another. Slay thought he was posting another W for his squad, but this feels like a big-time L. Maybe next time he should be more worried about covering Golladay instead of what he’s going to put on Twitter after a game. Come on, dude.
