Watch Isaiah Hodgins discuss his NY Giants journey and get ready to love this kid even more
Before the start of the campaign, there’s a good chance that a lot of NY Giants fans had no idea who Isaiah Hodgins was. A former standout for Oregon State, he was a late-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2021, but failed to find his footing with the team. This led to Buffalo releasing him and the Giants claiming him off waivers.
This might be one of the best moves general manager Joe Schoen has made during his short time with the team. People were calling for a midseason trade – similar to the Bears going after Chase Claypool, who has struggled in Chicago. Schoen decided to hang on to his draft picks and Hodgins has rewarded him with his stellar play.
Hodgins is a humble young man and he’s just grateful for this opportunity. Seeing him discuss his journey with the team and his prep for the playoffs will surely make you smile.

Hodgins has loved every minute of his time with Big Blue and it’s easy to see why. Once the Bills released him, he probably thought he’d end up on a practice squad for the long haul this year. Instead, head coach Brian Daboll and Schoen, who knew Hodgins from their days in Buffalo, gave him his shot in the NFC East and he’s taken full advantage of things.
During the regular season, Hodgins appeared in eight games, posting 33 receptions for 351 yards and four touchdowns. Not only were the stats impressive, but he has earned the trust of quarterback Daniel Jones.
With the G-Men traveling to Minnesota this weekend for the Wild Card Round, Danny Dimes will be looking Hodgins’ way several times in the big-time matchup. Giants fans have all the confidence in the world that Hodgins will be able to make some quality grabs for this offense. What a player he has turned out to be.
