Despite the NY Giants silencing their haters this past season, it appears not everyone is ready to jump on the bandwagon just yet. The G-Men were able to stun the Vikings in the opening round of the playoffs, but the Divisional Round loss to the Eagles in Philly brought the organization back down to earth.

For Hall of Famer and former Giants head man Bill Parcells, the defeat at the hands of the Eagles is something he’s going to keep on his mind throughout the offseason.

Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen did a fantastic job of changing the culture for Big Blue, but if you ask Parcells, this new regime must hand both the Cowboys and Eagles some losses in the near future to really earn respect in the division.

Legendary Giants head coach Bill Parcells wants to see wins over Dallas and Philly

"“I thought they had a great year,” Parcells wrote about the Giants via The 33rd Team. “They have some decisions to make with their quarterback Daniel Jones, and their running back Saquon Barkley. They’ll try to hold onto those guys and build from there. But the one thing I’ll say about the Giants on the negative side is they haven’t beaten the heavyweights in their division. They lost to Dallas twice, and they lost to Philadelphia three times. So, they’ve got to get a better foothold in their own division if they expect improvement next year.”"

Parcells, who powered the Giants to two Super Bowl titles during his eight seasons with the team, was impressed with the way the team performed this past year. However, he didn’t like seeing Daniel Jones and Co. lose twice to the Cowboys and three times to the Eagles.

In order for the Giants to try and take the next step, you can’t argue with Parcells here: they need to record some impressive wins over both their NFC East rivals, while also keeping up their strong play against the Washington Commanders.

If all goes well, the Giants can get some sweet revenge on Dallas and Philly at some point next campaign. It’s something Parcells would very much like to see.
