We can’t wait to find out who will be the WR1 for the NY Giants come next season, as general manager Joe Schoen must bring in a speedster for quarterback Daniel Jones. Danny Dimes is probably going to get a multi-year deal here soon, but it will be meaningless unless Schoen brings in a playmaker for him.
One name that’s been floated around quite a bit in recent weeks has been San Francisco 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk, who is coming off the best season of his career.
If his latest Instagram activity is any indication, it sure looks like the young wideout would be open to packing his bags and leaving the California sunshine.
NY Giants fans would love to see Brandon Aiyuk join the team
Aiyuk was so much fun to watch this season for the 49ers. A lot of times, people forget about him because of guys like Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel, but make no mistake about it, this kid is a big-time talent and the numbers back that up.
Making plays for Kyle Shanahan once again this season, Aiyuk hauled in 78 receptions for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns. This came with third-string signal-caller Brock Purdy throwing him the ball for the majority of the season. Now, imagine Aiyuk getting a fresh start with a new team. In this case, we’re thinking about the rising New York Football Giants.
Jones didn’t put up video game-type numbers or anything, but he was throwing the ball to a not-so elite group of wideouts. Kenny Golladay was a bust, Kadarius Toney was traded to the Chiefs, and his most reliable option was Isaiah Hodgins, a player Schoen claimed off of waivers in early November.
Some Giants fans have been calling for Schoen to try and trade for DeAndre Hopkins, while others are asking for him to go after someone much younger. Aiyuk would be an exciting get if Schoen and the Giants end up trying to get something done. Hey, people can dream, and Aiyuk donning Big Blue would be exciting.
Michael Strahan ends the Kayvon Thibodeaux-49ers beef with incredible tweet
NY Giants legend Michael Strahan put Joe Staley in his place on Twitter when coming to the defense of Kayvon Thibodeaux this week.
