Has NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones done enough to earn his payday from general manager Joe Schoen? There’s a split feeling among the New York fan base, as it’s expected that Jones is hoping to get a deal worth around $35 million per year.

If you ask Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning, though, there’s no doubt in his mind that Jones should get paid. While speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Manning was asked about Jones and whether or not he’s earned his extension.

Manning has been in Jones’ corner for a while and his latest comments have shown even more support for the soon to be fifth-year quarterback.

NY Giants legend Eli Manning wants to see Daniel Jones get his contract extension

"“I do. I’ve known Daniel, seen his progression, and I’ve always been on his side, rooting for him, and I think he’s played outstanding this year in a tough environment, losing a lot of your recievers, your weapons on the outside – he was able to play well in fourth quarters and lead his team back to victory,” Manning said when asked whether or not Jones deserves a new deal. “He maybe played his best game of the entire season in the playoffs against Minnesota.”"

Manning, who won two Super Bowls with Big Blue, has taken Jones under his wing from the moment the former No. 6 overall pick made his way to East Rutherford. Manning has always been there for Jones and he gave him words of encouragement throughout the 2022 campaign.

On the year, Danny Dimes, also known as Vanilla Vick, put together his best season thus far and he earned the trust of countless NY supporters out there. A lot of people wanted to see Tyrod Taylor take over as the starting signal-caller, but those same doubters are now ready to see Jones put the pen to paper on a new deal.

It feels like an announcement could be coming any day now. Jones has earned his big-time pay increase, but Schoen also needs to find the sweet spot and not overpay him as well.
