3. Sign offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo

The Giants offensive line took a massive step forward in 2022, but as we’ve seen in the playoffs, the teams with the best offensive lines tend to win when it matters most. The Eagles and Chiefs, the two teams still in the Lombardi Trophy hunt, both ranked in the top seven in pass blocking and run blocking according to PFF. Look for Schoen to follow that recipe and continue to build up the Giants in the trenches.

PFF ranked the Giants’ 2022 offensive line 24th in pass blocking and 14th in run blocking, indicating it was a slightly below-average offensive line. Adding someone like Isaac Seumalo would instantly change that status.

Seumalo is in the midst of a monstrous 2022 season. The Eagles hoss logged over 1,000 snaps and was PFF’s ninth-ranked guard. Seumalo posted a 90.4 pass-blocking grade from Week 11 on, while allowing pressure on just 1.8 percent of pass-blocking snaps. A player who receives a grade between 90-100 on PFF’s scale is considered elite.

Spotrac predicts Seumalo to receive a two- year, $24 million contract. That deal would be a bargain for New York. The Giants front office should jump at the chance to steal a borderline elite offensive lineman from a bitter rival. We’d love to see this happen.
