4 NY Giants free agents most likely to re-sign with the team this offseason

Now that the 2022 season is officially over after the incredible Super Bowl between the Eagles and Chiefs, it’s time for the NY Giants and Joe Schoen to get ready for free agency. NY will have more than $44 million in cap space, with a lot of big decisions coming for Schoen.

So, who will end up coming back? Whether it be young players with potential, veteran leaders, or even key leaders of this Giants team, there’s several guys NY fans will want back. With that said, here’s a look at four guys who we think will surely ink new deals with Big Blue:

4. WR Sterling Shepard

After suffering a second consecutive major injury in two seasons, many Giants fans thought it was over for Sterling Shepard in New York. However, it seems like Shepard could be returning for at least the 2023 season. He is so valuable to Big Blue from a leadership standpoint.

Shepard has been a fan-favorite player since the Giants drafted him for both his play, and the energy he brings to this squad. We know many NY fans would be very sad to see the 29 year old go.

It likely wouldn’t cost much at all to bring Shepard back to begin with, let alone the fact that we can honestly see him taking slightly less money to stay in New York. Shepard has made his love for the city and team very vocal over the years and it is quite clear that he wants to be a Giant for life.

A deal for Shepard will likely be a one-year veteran minimum with stat based incentives. It’s a low risk, high reward deal that the Giants could really profit off of. If Shepard looks as good as he did prior to his ACL tear in Week 3 against the Cowboys, New York will be gaining back an incredibly solid weapon for an offense that desperately needs it.
