When you record the kind of campaign that the NY Giants just did under head man Brian Daboll, you know that other teams are going to notice the work done by members of the staff. With Wink Martindale and Mike Kafka, they got serious head coaching looks, but they’ll be back with the G-Men next season. That doesn’t mean everyone else will be returning.

It was recently reported that running backs coach DeAndre Smith will join the Indianapolis Colts’ staff under the same position. Could someone else also be on the way out?

Per Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns have requested permission to interview Big Blue assistant special teams coordinator Anthony Blevins for their opening. Could Blevins be ready for a new challenge?

Browns will interview NY Giants assistant special teams coach Anthony Blevins

While Blevins isn’t a household name by any means, he’s been in East Rutherford for quite some time. Blevins has been a member of the coaching staff since 2018. In addition to working with the special teams unit, he also has experience working with the Big Blue defensive backs and outside linebackers, according to insider Dan Duggan.

Blevins is waiting for his shot to run his own unit, and Cleveland may be the organization to give it to him. Daboll of course would love to welcome him back back to the team for next season and beyond, but there’s a chance that won’t end up happening.

Prior to joining the Giants staff, Blevins was with the Arizona Cardinals. He’s got plenty of coaching experience and Cleveland appears to be quite intrigued by him. Only time will tell if he’s offered a job or not, but this will certainly be a situation to monitor over the next week. Blevins may end up leaving the NFC East to take a step forward in his career with the Browns.
