2. LB T.J Edwards

Surprisingly enough, the Eagles decided to void the contract of star linebacker T.J Edwards, opening the door for him to potentially leave in free agency. If Philadelphia opts to not bring him back, the Giants should attempt to bring him in ASAP.

Not only would it be awesome to steal one of the best defensive players from the Eagles, but he would be a stud for the Giants, as his abilities in the run game and in coverage are massively underrated.

In 17 games last season, Edwards racked up a ridiculous 160 combined tackles and two sacks, while allowing 46 receptions on 70 targets for 328 yards and zero touchdowns. Edwards may have allowed a lot of receptions, but with how often he was targeted he could have done a lot worse.

According to PFF, Edwards is expected to make around $13.5 million a year on his next contract. While that certainly is a lot, a player of Edwards’ caliber is certainly worth that kind of money, and when you consider how much other linebackers are getting paid combined with his age, there is room for this kind of contract to become a steal in the future.
