Despite so many haters trying to bring down the NY Giants far in advance of the 2022 campaign getting underway, few people can argue that this squad was incredibly fun to watch. On both sides of the ball, head man Brian Daboll, the AP Coach of the Year, had several guys step up and make big-time plays for him.

The team over at Pro Football Focus took notice of what guys in Big Blue jerseys were able to do. PFF released its top 101 players list for 2022 and to no surprise, three G-Men ballers made the cut: Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley, All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas and All-Pro defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence.

Andrew Thomas, Dexter Lawrence and Saquon Barkley had huge years for the NY Giants

To start things off, Lawrence landed with the best ranking of the three NY playmakers, coming in at No. 15. Lawrence was a total force in the trenches for Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale this past season. Lawrence could not be stopped going up against offensive linemen, who time and time again didn’t have a chance trying to slow him down.

Next up we have Thomas, who came in at No. 16. Similar to Lawence, Thomas also took home All-Pro honors. After a rough rookie season, Thomas bounced back in a huge way in 2021. Then, he got even better in 2022. Thomas was a lockdown LT and did an incredible job of keeping Daniel Jones on his feet. The line struggled as a whole, but Thomas was a pleasure to watch.

Last but not least, Barkley checked in at No. 62. After all the ups and downs the former No. 2 overall pick has had to endure throughout his young career, seeing him put on a show this past fall and winter was simply awesome. Barkley earned Pro Bowl honors after rushing for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The hope is that general manager Joe Schoen will be able to work things out with Saquon this offseason and get him a new contract to stay in town. Meanwhile for Lawrence and Thomas, extensions for those two studs should be coming soon as well. They’ve earned it.
