4. Re-sign Daniel Jones

The Giants must sign re-sign Daniel Jones this offseason, and they must do it before free agency begins. There are two main reasons the Giants must re-sign Jones. The first reason: there are simply no better alternatives.

Danny Dimes is by no means a perfect quarterback, but he is better than any other option available. Based off his play on the field last season and overall skillset, Danny Dimes is clearly better than all of the top free agent options, a list that includes Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Jimmy Garoppolo, Geno Smith and Jacoby Brissett.

The second reason: Jones is a young, ascending quarterback, who is criminally underrated. Despite being handed one of the five worst group of weapons in the NFL in 2022, Jones led the Giants to the playoffs, won a playoff game, and posted the number six QBR ranking in the NFL. Jones is a big, powerful, dual-threat quarterback, something every NFL franchise is craving for.

It would be a major mistake to let him walk out the door. The non-exlusive franchise tag is an option, but that cap hit is something Schoen is going to want to avoid at all costs.
