Among the major takeaways from last season was of course the strong play of Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley for the NY Giants. However, one of the most consistent guys on the roster was without question standout kicker Graham Gano. Whenever head man Brian Daboll called on Gano to deliver with a huge kick, he was there to get the job done.

Gano has one more year on his deal with the G-Men, so fans are already thinking about him coming up in the clutch next fall and winter. However, could something change? That’s what a lot of people are fearing thanks to his most recent post on Twitter:

NY Giants kicker Graham Gano has a lot of people talking on Twitter

If you take a look at the replies to that tweet from Gano, there indeed are plenty of Big Blue supporters who are worried that the star kicker has played his last game for the Giants. Gano really was one of the best kickers in the game this past season, and the fact that he was a Pro Bowl snub is still upsetting.

Gano is still playing under his three-year deal worth $14 million. Per Spotrac, he’s set to have a cap hit of $5.5 million this upcoming season, with a dead money number of $2.6 million. If the Giants were to release Gano, it’d create just under $3 million in cap space. Joe Schoen wouldn’t dare make this move, would he?

At just 35 years old, Gano still has plenty of fantastic football ahead of him. A lot of fans in New York are hoping that he can keep putting the ball through the uprights at MetLife Stadium moving forward.

His latest tweet could end up being nothing, but there’s a lot of worried people out there right now. Gano would not be easy to replace if he isn’t on the roster for Big Blue come next campaign. Let’s hope that doesn’t prove to be the case.
