Predicting 5 big NY Giants moves after giving Daniel Jones his mega-deal

1. Ink a veteran LB like Eric Kendricks
We’re stating the obvious here, but the linebacker play for the Giants was atrocious in ’22. When Tae Crowder and Jaylon Smith are seeing extensive action, you know you’ve got a serious problem. Smith is a free agent, while Crowder was released, signed to the practice squad and then made a move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Those two won’t be missed by NY supporters.
This offseason, bringing in linebacker help will be just as important as adding WRs. There are some fantastic names available in free agency, with the list including Eric Kendricks. Earlier in the offseason, signing Kendricks would have seemed unlikely, but the Giants are going to be set with quite a bit of cap space moving forward.
One of the biggest wins for Schoen in the Jones contract was that his Year 1 cap hit will be around $19 million. This is more than $13 million less than what the hit would have been if DJ was placed on the non-exclusive franchise tag. With the release of Golladay coming, and hopefully figuring things out with Williams, Schoen is going to have even more money to spend leading up to Week 1.
Hey, if Kendricks is there for the taking, then let the man head to the NFC East to put on a show with the Giants. He’d be an unreal get for Schoen and Co.
