NY Giants Round 5 Pick: Texas DT Moro Ojomo

Schoen has already made it clear that heading into the offseason, the Giants must address the interior of the defensive line. While Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams are securing the middle, there is a lack of depth. In a loaded class at the position, the Giants could have their pick of playmakers in the later rounds. This includes Texas defensive tackle Moro Ojomo.

Ojomo tested well at the Combine and appears set to make an instant impact in the NFL. In terms of size, he measured in at 6-3 and 292 pounds. Ojomo also tested well. He posted a 5.04 40-yard dash and a 33-inch vertical jump. He also recorded 29 reps on the bench press, the third most of any defensive tackle.

Ojomo has proven to be a force on the interior. Through 42 collegiate games, he recorded 95 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks. If the Giants want to add depth to their defensive line, Ojomo could be an intriguing prospect. If he’s there at No. 162 overall in the fifth round, we say go with him.
