We keep on inching closer to the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft arriving, and all eyes are on the NY Giants and Joe Schoen. About a month ago, it really felt like a lock that Schoen would rock with a wide receiver to help out Daniel Jones. However, the team has since added tight end Darren Waller and wideout Parris Campbell – they re-signed Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton too.

It’s up in the air who the Giants will go with, but our gut tells us the G-Men will go with either a cornerback, wideout or center. If you ask ESPN’s Mel Kiper, one of the best draft gurus out there, he likes a big-name WR to make his way to East Rutherford.

Mel Kiper has the NY Giants taking Jordan Addison in the first round

"“(Jordan) Addison put up huge numbers for Pitt and USC over the past three seasons, and he could be a plug-and-play starter, getting reps in the slot and outside,” Kiper wrote on Addison. “This is how the Giants’ passing offense can take a big step forward.”"

Big Blue fans would love to see Kiper’s prediction be correct, as Addison has WR1 of the future written all over him. Addison was a stud at Pitt, and then went on to be electric in his lone season at USC playing with Caleb Williams. If he’s still on the clock at No. 25 overall, it’d be tough for Schoen to pass up on him.

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah thinks OL help is on the way

With both Nick Gates and Jon Feliciano heading elsewhere this offseason, the Giants are in need of some offensive line help. Well, how about interior OL Joe Tippman of Wisconsin? NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah thinks the former Badger will not only fall to the G-Men at No. 25, but that Schoen will send his name in when NY is on the clock.

A new starting center for the Giants?

As we mentioned above, both Gates and Feliciano are gone to new squads, which means the Giants are in need of a new starting center. How about Minnesota’s John Michael Schmitz to fill that void? Schmitz has definitely raised his stock over the last month, as plenty of mock drafts have him going late in the first round. Per Jeff Risdon of USA Today, Schmitz makes a ton of sense for the Giants at No. 25 and it’s hard to disagree with him.
