2. CB Rock Ya-Sin

Outside of Jackson, the Giants do not have a standout outside corner. While they could draft someone or potentially rely on an Aaron Robinson/Cor’Dale Flott breakout season, it may just be better to sign a reliable veteran to man the position.

Now, drafting a corner may simply be the way to go, but with the potential of drafting a star WR1 in the first round, Schoen may not want to take a gamble on a less proven guy in the later rounds. Thus, this could open the door for a potential Rock Ya-Sin signing.

Sin may not be anything special or a star, but he is consistent, something the Giants’ defense could really use in the secondary after last season. In 11 games with the Raiders last season, Sin allowed 31 receptions on 53 targets for 323 yards and just one touchdown.

Again, nothing out of the ordinary, but not bad by any means. In all reality, the Giants could easily still draft a corner in round one, and keep Ya-Sin around as a depth piece to play behind the new draftee and Jackson while still leaving room for Flott and Robinson to receive a decent amount of snaps.

The odds of Ya-Sin receiving a back-breaking contract is incredibly unlikely, so if Schoen can manage to free up cap space, the Giants’ defense would greatly benefit from adding a player like Ya-Sin to its core.
