The New York Giants are set to return from their bye week and will now look to finish the second half of the season on a positive note. At 2-8, there hasn’t been much to celebrate about this Giants team, but there will be a new signal-caller under center, with Tommy DeVito set to take over as quarterback.

It’s unclear whether DeVito will finish out the season as the starting quarterback, but hopefully, he can ignite a spark in the Big Blue offense that Daniel Jones failed to provide this season. With "Tommy Cutlets" now at the helm and New York hoping to end their five-game losing skid, could these three bold predictions come true for the Giants after their bye week?

3 Bold predictions for the NY Giants after their bye

3. Tyrone Tracy Jr. surpasses 800 rushing yards

The loss of Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles is a tough pill to swallow for Giants fans, especially as he leads the NFL with 1,137 rushing yards. However, New York may have something special in rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr, which is why he’s on track to surpass 800 rushing yards in his rookie season.

Tracy certainly wasn't on many people's radar as the Giants drafted him in the fifth round of this past year's draft. He wasn't even slated to be the starting running back when the Giants signed veteran back Devin Singletary on a three-year deal. After Singletary was forced to miss two straight games early in the season due to injury, the 24-year-old has not looked back. After his third 100-plus yard rushing game of the season against the Carolina Panthers back in Week 10, Tracy now has 545 rushing yards with three touchdowns and is averaging over five yards a carry.

Tracy is showing no signs of slowing down this year as he's taking the number-one running back spot and has not looked back. Due to his surprising breakout season, he will surpass over 800 rushing yards.

2. Tommy DeVito wins his first two starts

The undrafted signal-caller gave Giants fans something to cheer about during an otherwise disappointing 2023 season. DeVito led New York on a three-game winning streak and quickly became an unsung hero in the Big Apple. Now, in another lost season for Big Blue, DeVito will provide renewed hope to Giants fans and win his first two starts.

The Giants are set to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday at MetLife Stadium, and much like the Giants, the Bucs are struggling. After starting the season 4-2, Tampa Bay has dropped their last four games, with injuries on both sides of the ball derailing their season. This presents DeVito and the Giants with a perfect opportunity to shock the Bucs at home, especially coming off their bye. However, the Giants will have a short week ahead, as just four days later, they’ll take on the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

Despite the Cowboys dominating the Giants in recent years, defeating Big Blue seven straight times and nine out of their last ten matchups, this is a winnable game for the Giants. Dallas is without their quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of the season, along with several other key playmakers, and, like the Giants, they are winless at home. So why not the Giants?

1. Brian Daboll survives the rest of the season

With the benching of Daniel Jones now official, Brian Daboll's seat may be even hotter, especially if the Giants’ offense continues to struggle, whether with DeVito at quarterback or a potential switch to Drew Lock. However, it’s hard to imagine John Mara firing a head coach midseason, as that has only happened once under his ownership, which is why Daboll is likely to survive the rest of the season.

After making the playoffs in Daboll’s first season as New York’s head coach in 2022, the Giants have regressed significantly, going just 8-19 since then. While Daboll deserves his fair share of the blame for the Giants’ struggles, questionable offseason moves by Joe Schoen, such as choosing not to bring back Barkley and instead giving Jones a $160 million contract, put Daboll in a difficult position to succeed without their best offensive playmaker at the time.

Now, with the Jones era in New York likely over, Daboll has a chance to prove that the offense can perform much better with a new quarterback under center.
