It's been a miserable season for the New York Giants in 2024. While they didn't enter this season with high expectations, it has been an abject failure, to say the least, as Big Blue has lost their last seven games and will finish the regular season with 10 or more losses for the ninth time in 11 seasons.

This season has also seen the Giants cut ties with what they thought was Eli Manning's successor, as Daniel Jones was finally let go after five-plus disappointing seasons. It is safe to say the future for this New York squad is about to be filled with far more questions than answers, particularly these three questions they must address for their fans.

3 burning questions Giants fans need answered

3. Will the offense finally find their stride?

Not just this season, but over the past several years, New York’s offense has consistently ranked near the bottom of the league in nearly every category. While the team made the postseason in 2022, most of those wins were narrow one-score games, with the defense and a bit of luck carrying the load. Apart from that season, both the squad and its offense have been a disaster. Fans need answers before the season ends about whether this unit can finally find its rhythm.

Since the start of the 2022 season, the offense has scored 30 or more points in a regular-season game just three times. This is an alarming statistic. Big Blue averaged 21.2 points per game that year, ranking 18th in the league. In 2023, they managed only 15.6 points per game, which was 30th. This season, the team has hit rock bottom, averaging a league-worst 15.3 points per game.

The offense has been brutal to watch, particularly in 2024. They have yet to crack the 30-point mark in any game this year. Now, with the team all but certain to have a new quarterback leading the way next season, the question remains: can this unit finally turn things around?

2. Does this wide receiver have a future with the Giants after a disappointing 2024 season?

Despite the Giants offense struggling week after week, one once-promising draft pick has been unusually quiet this season, leaving fans puzzled. While rookie standout Malik Nabers hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 3, the bigger question is: Where has Jalin Hyatt been? The young receiver showed potential in 2023, but his lack of involvement in 2024 raises serious concerns about his future in New York.

Big Blue drafted Hyatt in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and early signs suggested he could be a great fit. At Tennessee, Hyatt had a breakout season in 2022, racking up 1,267 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. His rookie season in the NFL, though scoreless, still had bright spots, including 23 catches for 373 yards and a 100-yard game in Week 12 that earned him Pepsi Offensive Rookie of the Week honors.

This year, however, Hyatt has just seven receptions for 53 yards and no touchdowns. He’s gone without a single catch in four separate games, and the Giants have shown little interest in giving him consistent opportunities. Fans are left wondering if the team is mismanaging his development or if Hyatt’s potential is better suited for another team. If the Giants remain reluctant to utilize him, it wouldn’t be surprising to see other teams inquiring about his availability.

1. How much longer is Brian Daboll’s leash as the Giants head coach?

Brian Daboll arrived in New York with high expectations, and in his first season, he delivered by leading the Giants to the playoffs and even securing a postseason win. Unfortunately, that success has been short-lived, and the Giants now find themselves as one of the league’s worst teams. While team owner John Mara has publicly supported both Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, fans are left wondering how much longer Daboll can remain at the helm.

Since their nine-win playoff campaign in 2022, the Giants have gone 8-21 and are currently enduring a seven-game losing streak. Each week, the team looks worse, leading to mounting frustration among fans. Daboll’s record within the division is also a glaring issue; the Giants are 4-12-1 against NFC East opponents during his tenure. For a franchise with a storied rivalry history, that kind of performance is unacceptable.

With five games left in the season and the Giants unlikely to be favored in any of them, the question becomes whether Daboll will survive this latest collapse. Another double-digit season may force ownership to rethink their approach, as it’s clear something has to change to get this team back on track. Fans are left wondering how much longer Daboll will be given to turn things around.
