Winner: Daniel Jones

There was a tail of two halves for Daniel Jones on Sunday against the Commanders. There was the really bad, as Jones went 4-for-6 with 0 passing yards, was sacked, and lost a fumble. He did throw a touchdown pass, though.

Then there was the pretty good for Jones, as he went 16-for-20 with 174 yards, had a second passing touchdown and would have had a third one if not for questionable officiating, and also ran one in himself.

The rushing touchdown was especially impressive, as Jones trucked two Commanders defenders down before getting into the end zone. While Jones’ talents are sometimes called into question, nobody will ever question his toughness and his efforts to try and win.

Despite trailing late in the game, Jones kept trying, and he also was aggressive in his approach, which was apparent in the 35-yard touchdown pass to Theo Johnson that made it a 27-22 game.

Had the Giants' defense made a stop and gotten the ball back late in the 4th quarter following the touchdown to Johnson, who knows what Jones might have done in a possible game-winning drive attempt? Jones had a chance last week against the Steelers and faltered at the end after what was initially a decent drive.

Jones hasn’t earned another benching yet, at least not with the second-half effort he put in to keep the Giants in the game against Washington.
