Since being drafted 73rd overall in the 2023 Draft, New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has struggled to carve out a role. Through two-plus seasons, he’s failed to live up to the hype that once made him college football’s best wideout.

Now, it appears his time in East Rutherford might be coming to an end.

Big Blue all but confirmed the former Tennessee standout is available after making him a healthy scratch ahead of their Week 8 game in Philadelphia. To reiterate, the wide receiver-needy G-Men placed a healthy receiver on the inactive list before a divisional matchup. If that’s not an indictment, I don’t know what is.

With the trade deadline under a week away, this might be their last chance to get anything back for the former third-rounder. Through eight games this year, he has three catches for 17 yards. It's clear he's no longer a part of the present or the future. It’s time to move on.

3 logical trade destinations for Giants' WR Jalin Hyatt

Buffalo Bills

This one is pretty simple: 24.29 miles per hour straight-line speed, meet quarterback Josh Allen's cannon. The Bills are 5-2 and are rumored to be in the market for a wide receiver to complement Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. So why not throw a flier at the 24-year-old?

The third-year pro isn't going to transform Buffalo's offense, but as things currently stand, they don't have a receiver with Hyatt's speed. They could use a seventh — or sixth — to acquire the former Volunteer, while also conserving enough trade ammo to make a bigger splash if they wanted to.

Los Angeles Rams

Never put it past Rams' general manager Les Snead to make a move to improve the roster. Look no further than their trade for cornerback Roger McCreary. If there's a need, call Snead. The Horns roster Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but they also put WR3 Tutu Atwell on Injured Reserve, leaving an opening for Schoen to expose.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford could finally be the guy to get the most out of Hyatt's barn-burning speed. It's not exactly a need, but at this point, a late Day 3 pick would likely do it, making this a very low-risk, high-reward play.

New York Jets

Gang Green needs a receiver like a bike needs tires. Seriously. They have Garrett Wilson... and that's about it. Tyler Johnson and Allen Lazard are their other options. It's rough. Unlike the previous destinations, Hyatt would come in and immediately compete for a legitimate role.

Sitting at 1-7, it's unlikely the Jets turn into buyers at the deadline, but you never know. The offense with Justin Fields under center has looked terrible. Can head coach Aaron Glenn and Co. really stumble through the rest of the season as is with no help? Good luck to 'em if they believe so.
