The New York Giants will have a different look in 2025 after enduring one of their worst seasons in franchise history. Big Blue finished 3-14 in the 2024 campaign, marking the most losses in team history, so it's no surprise that several changes are expected this offseason.

While the team works to improve at key positions, including quarterback, some continuity will remain heading into next season. General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are confirmed to return for a fourth season, so it’s reasonable to expect a few players on expiring contracts to return to East Rutherford as well.

According to Spotrac, the Giants have 17 players set to hit the open market this offseason. It will be interesting to see who Schoen and Daboll prioritize retaining.

Here’s a look at three 2025 Giants free agents who could re-sign and return to New York:

3 free agents who should re-sign with the Giants this offseason

3: Aaron Stinnie, OG

Given their ongoing struggles to stay healthy, the Giants can never have enough offensive linemen. One offensive lineman they could retain is guard Aaron Stinnie. While Stinnie isn’t a starter and will likely remain behind Jon Runyan Jr., he provides essential depth at the position.

Stinnie appeared in 16 games for the Giants this season and started three, playing only 18 percent of the offensive snaps. He’ll be a cost-effective option for the G-Men in free agency, making it worthwhile for Schoen to offer the veteran guard a short-term deal for 2025.

2: Jamie Gillan, P

The Giants should focus on improving their special teams unit, starting with the punter position. Jamie Gillan, who has held the starting job for the past three seasons, is someone they should consider bringing back.

Big Blue tied for third in the league with an average of 4.5 punt attempts per game this past season. Gillan attempted 56 punts for 2,448 yards, averaging 43.7 yards per punt. While the Giants hope to rely on him less in 2025, retaining "The Scottish Hammer" would still make sense for stability at the position.

1: Isaiah Simmons, LB

The Giants should make retaining Isaiah Simmons a priority. The Arizona Cardinals traded Simmons to the Giants before the 2023 season for a 2024 seventh-round pick. The 2020 first-rounder is versatile, capable of playing multiple positions, including safety and outside linebacker.

Simmons made an immediate impact during his first season with the Giants, recording 33 solo tackles, one interception, three passes defended, one forced fumble, and one sack. However, his production dipped in 2024, as he logged just 12 solo tackles, two passes defended, and one forced fumble. Despite this, Simmons appeared in all 17 games, primarily as a backup.

While he’s no longer a starter, Simmons provides valuable depth to both the pass-rushing and secondary units. Given his affordability in free agency, bringing him back would be a wise move for the Giants.

With plenty of holes to fill this offseason, the Giants must balance making bold improvements with retaining reliable contributors. Bringing back these three free agents could help solidify key areas while allowing New York to focus on addressing its most pressing needs elsewhere.
