The New York Giants are less than a week into training camp practices, but a few players are already starting to stand out. In John Harbaugh's first season in charge, there have been plenty of positive signs to take away.
From encouraging injury updates to red-hot rookie performances, these four Giants players have made waves in the first few days of training camp.

Malachi Fields
Fields entered camp with an outside shot at cracking the starting lineup before Week 1. Now, it feels more real than ever. The rookie wideout had a few impressive catches during practice and worked in with the first team often.
Per Dan Duggan on the second day of camp, "Malachi Fields had an impressive contested catch over Greg Newsome on a deep jump ball from Dart after he broke the pocket. Fields has gotten a ton of first-team reps this spring, but had been quiet. He had his best practice today."
The Giants have a heated competition ahead of them at receiver, but Fields looks like a front runner in the early going.
Malik Nabers
Speaking of receivers, Nabers is an easy winner from the first few days of practice. He avoided being placed on the PUP list and even ran some routes on the field.
A week ago, it seemed like the superstar wideout would miss a significant chunk of the season as he recovers from his ACL injury. Now, all signs point to a full return within the first week or two of the season.
Abdul Carter
Carter's breakout hype has been building since the moment the 2025 season ended. The former top-five pick produced a team-high 66 pressures in 2025, but he wasn't able to convert many of them into sacks.
Per Dan Salomone, "John Harbaugh said Abdul Carter has had two good practices to start camp."
The second-year edge rusher could be set to explode this season as part of the Giants' three-headed monster at edge rusher.
Kayvon Thibodeaux
Carter isn't the only edge defender balling out in the early going. Thibodeaux has been impressive, but not for what he can do as a pass rusher. He's been consistently swatting balls away at the line of scrimmage.
Per Connor Hughes, "Kayvon Thibodeaux had a pick-six of Jameis Winston. That’s two INTs for Winston in two days. Kayvon tipped it, caught it, and then took off."
Thibodeaux is headed into the final year of his rookie deal and has been the subject of constant trade rumors this offseason. He's already showing the Giants why they need to keep him in the first few practices of training camp.
