The New York Giants are trying their best to shed the disappointing labels the Brian Daboll era slapped on this franchise, as they are moving forward with John Harbaugh on the sidelines and Jaxson Dart under center. However, that doesn't mean everything is completely right as rain around Big Blue.

The Giants are heading into a season after parting ways with multiple established veterans, all while riding the roller coaster of a developing young quarterback and squaring off against one of the toughest divisions in the league. The depth chart contains many problematic areas that culd be stretched to boiling point if the Giants get off to a sluggish start.

These four position groups are either far from settled as far as the depth chart is concerned or face some questions related to the established starters. Before Week 1, Harbaugh needs to whittle away some of the uncertainty around this group.

4. Interior Offensive Line

Top 10 pick Francis Mauigoa should be a big upgrade at right guard, but he's still unproven. Jon Runyan Jr. has put together some solid seasons, but his 52.9 PFF grade last year was a step back. John Michael Schmitz is looking more like a bust, but the Giants apparently seem content with him as the starting center.

3. Defensive Tackle

The Giants' approach to replacing Dexter Lawrence seems to be Voltron-ing together a bunch of veterans and recreating him in the aggregate. Shelby Harris and DJ Reader are solid, established pros, and Darius Alexander is still developing, but the Giants may feel the loss of Lawrence's bulk on the interior.

2. Running Back

Cam Skattebo has become a fan favorite, but he hasn't put together the type of campaign that can make him a no-doubt bell-cow running back. Skattebo may end up losing carries to Tyrone Tracy if he shows signs of regression after his injury, and New York not investing big money or top NFL Draft capital in the backfield could end up coming back to haunt them.

1. Wide Receiver

Even when Malik Nabers is removed from the equation, the Giants' strategy of signing any veteran receiver available to a cheap one-year deal has thrown the depth chart into complete disarray. Rookie Malachi Fields could rise above those vets, but his lack of great speed could be an issue. Throw in Nabers' health problems, and this could be a powder keg.
