2. Elijah Chatman

Defensive tackle Elijah Chatman may have a great story he can tell forever, but he doesn't want it to end after a few games. The undrafted free agent out of SMU came in as a long shot to make the team at first, but after turning a lot of heads at rookie minicamp, the Giants soon knew they stumbled upon a kid with some great potential.

The undersized workhorse from the Mustangs (no pun intended) stood out for many different reasons. He also had the play of the preseason running down a receiver 20 yards down the field on a play. The reason Chatman might be losing playing time is brought on by two big factors, one being that the defensive tackle position week to week seems to change based on the opponent the Giants face.

There are weeks Rakeem Nunez-Roches and/or Jordon Riley may see more snaps if the team they face are run heavy. The other factor is the sudden emergence of defensive tackle DJ Davidson. Davidson has quietly been having a good year for the Giants after it seemed he was on the roster bubble. He had by far his best game of his young career with a multi-tackle, two-sack performance against Seattle. He has proven he can be trusted moving forward.
