Why not us?
That's the exact question the New York Giants should be asking themselves after their 3-1 start. They're currently leading the NFC East, and based on how the rest of the division has looked so far, they might be able to close it out even without Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns.
But that playoff push could use some extra fuel. The NFL trade deadline, scheduled for November 10th, is rapidly approaching, and the G-Men have a few weaknesses that need addressing.
If general manager Joe Schoen wants to turn this storybook start into a real fight for a playoff run, he should consider trading for these four players.
Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s struggles have consumed an exhausting amount of oxygen over the first month of the season. Perhaps John Harbaugh doesn't want that kind of drama in his building, but the former top-five pick still has enough talent to bet on.
According to Jeremy Fowler, it might only take a Day 3 draft pick to get the young wideout. If that's the case, the Giants should at least make a call.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr.
While we're on the subject of up-and-down receivers from the 2024 draft class, why not consider trading for Brian Thomas Jr.? The Jaguars' speedster has had some drop issues, but he can still stretch the field and threaten defenses over the top.
This trade would be a bit more expensive than bagging Harrison Jr., but it's worth exploring for a Giants team with four healthy receivers on its active roster.
Miami Dolphins EDGE Josh Uche
Without Burns, the Giants are relying on Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux to eat up nearly every snap on the edge. They could use another body in the rotation, and the Dolphins might be holding a fire sale.
Joshua Uche has been a solid edge rusher for the Dolphins, Chiefs, Eagles, and Patriots in recent years. The Giants should be next on that list.
Miami Dolphins DT Zach Sieler
If Dolphins defenders are available, Zach Sieler is worth inquiring about, too. He has started 85 games for Miami, but at 31 years old, he won't be part of the long-term plans. Instead, he could become a key figure in the Giants' playoff push.
Sieler would thrive next to DJ Reader on the interior. Adding him to the mix would turn a weakness into a strength, even if he's more of a short-term rental than a true answer at the position.
