Once Super Bowl 59 concluded this past weekend, the entire focus of the league immediately shifted to the offseason and preparations for the 2025 season. Unsurprisingly, the focus for the New York Giants is on who will be their starting quarterback.

The football world seems to think that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the guy to be the Giants’ next signal-caller. Some might believe these trade suggestions have manifested recently from Malik Nabers’ emoji messages on Twitter. But ever since the Super Bowl ended, the Stafford trade rumors have been swirling everywhere.

FanDuel envisioning an offense that includes both Stafford and Kupp only adds to what Nabers hinted at on his account before he deleted it, likely to avoid any potential tampering issues from the league. Whether Kupp gets packaged with Stafford or not, the Giants still need a quarterback—especially a veteran in case they fail to land someone they prefer in the 2025 NFL Draft. Stafford seems to be the hot topic around the league.

So what are some logical trade offers the Giants could make to the Rams for Stafford?

This trade proposal was suggested by Talkin’ Giants from Jomboy Media in a recent poll, which 53 percent of the over 7,700 voters approved. Most likely agreed because it didn’t involve the Giants’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the results were still close to 50-50, as many fans probably don’t want to part with a second-round pick for a 37-year-old quarterback with a significant contract.

This trade was proposed by GMENHQ site expert Matt Sidney. It would probably be easier for the Giants' fan base to accept, as it avoids a direct second-round pick, opting instead for a conditional third in 2026. A third-round pick in 2025 is something most fans seem comfortable dealing away.

This trade is similar to the Aaron Rodgers deal between the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers before the 2023 season, which, in hindsight, didn’t end well for the Jets after Rodgers' short-lived tenure didn’t even include a playoff appearance. Most fans likely wouldn’t be eager to trade away the third overall pick, but this is just one possible scenario.

This might be the deal most Giants fans would agree to—a third-round pick in 2025 and a seventh-rounder in 2026 for a player of Stafford’s caliber, though one who still carries a hefty contract.

What once started as a mere possibility back in October for the 2025 season has now become a legitimate scenario. At this point, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Stafford land with the Giants in an effort to improve their quarterback situation and turn the team’s fortunes around in 2025.
