After the Eagles' 24-20 Thursday Night Football win over the Cowboys, former New York Giants cornerback Adoree’ Jackson might’ve double-checked his locker to make sure none of his Big Blue gear was showing.
Alright, no, Jackson wasn’t caught trying to hide any Giants merch. But based on how he played in his Philly debut, it wouldn’t have been all that surprising. The soon-to-be 30-year-old got completely torched early and often, raising legitimate questions about whether he actually left the G-Men this offseason.
After spending four seasons with the G-Men, the former 2017 first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans signed a one-year $1.755 million deal with the Eagles. He was one of two defectors from the 2024 team looking to capture the magic Saquon Barkley found after leaving the year prior. Safe to say, things already aren't working out for the veteran defensive back.
Adoree' Jackson's Week 1 struggles prove Giants were right to move on
Losing Jackson wasn’t exactly a heartbreaking loss for Big Blue. He was fine in 2024. Not great. Not a liability. Just... fine. So when it came time to retool the secondary, they prioritized Paulson Adebo and let Jackson walk. No drama. No tears.
The Eagles, on the other hand, gambled in the riskiest way, not by overpaying him, but by assuming he’d stabilize an unproven cornerback room without bringing any real upside. If a team's counting on Year 9 for a breakout, that plan’s already broken.
Well, the gamble blew up in record time. Jackson entered Week 1 barely holding off Kelee Ringo and played like a guy still stuck in a camp battle. Part of Jackson’s downfall in recent years hasn’t been talent... it’s been his effort. And that issue showed up again on a run play where he looked completely uninterested in making a tackle, looking like a wacky inflatable arm-flailing tube man. Brutal look on national TV.
And Philly fans did what they do best — overreact and give the internet gold. If you needed more evidence that Jackson's a rogue agent still working for Big Blue, take it from their fans:
You're gonna need a bigger scale.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst, how much of a 200 is Adoree Jackson? 😭🦅

I'll go get my cleats.
Please just play anyone over Adoree Jackson

Maybe he's still secretly a Giant, or maybe he's just no longer a reliable starting cornerback in the league. You make the call. Either way, that Thursday night tape won’t be helping his case with Philly DC Vic Fangio, a coach who wasn't even excited by his signing in the first place.
