Now that the New York Giants have released Bobby Okereke to open up more cap space for John Harbaugh to utilize, there are still some questions that have gone unanswered, like who this extra cap space could be used for, or how aggressive Harbaugh and the Giants will actually be in free agency.

But one of the questions that's flying under the radar is about where Okereke will be playing in 2026. The 29-year-old is coming off of one of the best seasons of his NFL career in 2025, so he'll have his fair share of suitors as a cheaper alternative to some of the top off-ball LBs in line to test free agency.

Odds are that Okereke signs with a contender, but I imagine he would want to squeeze in one more large payday while he still can. That means the highest bidder will likely be the one to land his services, and given their financial situation, I expect that team that signs him to be the still-rebuilding Tennessee Titans.

It feels inevitable that Bobby Okereke will sign with the Tennesee Titans in free agency

Not only would joining the Titans reunite the 2019 fourth-round pick with ex-Giants' head coach Brian Daboll, who is now their offensive coordinator, signing here would also reunite him with Gus Bradley, who was his defensive coordinator in his final season playing for the Indianapolis Colts back in 2022.

That's a lot of connections to take note of, especially for a player who has already spent most of his career in the AFC South. The Titans could also use another game-changing LB beyond Cedric Gray, and Okereke becoming the green dot and a mentor for a young defense makes sense for both sides.

The Titans hired a defensive-minded coach in Robert Saleh, so bolstering the defense with someone with Okereke's experience is a major step in the right direction. He was a captain for Big Blue for good reason. and his versatility will be a major tool while Saleh and Bradley hope to turn the unit around.

More Giants free agency predictions:

Since Gray already finished fourth in the NFL in tackles, complementing him with a man who finished 10th in tackles is a good strategic decision. He won't be expensive to sign as someone like Kaden Elliss or Tremaine Edmunds, so the Titans could be about to make a move for some serious FA value.

Even though Bobby O will turn 30 in July, he still has good football left in the tank, and 2025 proved that. You could argue he was the heartbeat of a pathetic Giants' defense, so if he really wants to value continuity, following Daboll to Tennessee just makes way too much sense for fans to ignore.
