Darius Slayton admits Cowboys have advantage Giants can’t match

It's annoying to have to compliment the Cowboys.

The New York Giants are 0-2 and, considering how poorly Week 1 went for them, Week 2 was a kick in the pants for another reason. The Giants had a great chance to beat the Dallas Cowboys and move to 1-1 while dropping their fierce rival to 0-2. Instead, Russell Wilson threw an interception in overtime that allowed the Cowboys to use their greatest weapon to their advantage.

That weapon, of course, is Brandon Aubrey. Darius Slayton spoke for most of Giants nation (and everyone, really) when talking about what an advantage it is for the Cowboys to have a kicker like Aubrey and said that Aubrey's bionic leg is what helped the 'Boys win that game.

For what it's worth, Giants kicker Graham Gano did everything that was asked of him in this game, so this wasn't a knock on him by any means. Gano converted all three field goals and all four extra points but even then, Gano is no Aubrey. The Cowboys kicker can boot field goals from distance (his long in this one was 64 yards) and, as Slayton said, is and was the difference in a game like this.

Slayton didn't just stop there, however. He pointed out that his team needs to be better overall and called the loss "frustrating", which fans 100% agree with.

"It's extremely frustrating," Slayton said. "We have to find a way to do better and close these games out"

He's not wrong. As soon as Wilson threw that pick and the Cowboys were then able to get onto the Giants' side of the field, fans knew what was coming. Considering the distance Aubrey has, the Cowboys probably would have attempted a 70-yard field goal to avoid the tie and very well might have gotten those three points to win them the game.

Instead, Dak Prescott rushed 14 yards up the middle to give Aubrey a far-too-easy 46-yard field goal try. To the shock of no one, he nailed it. That bionic leg did exactly what Giants fans expected it to do and now the G-Men are 0-2 while the Cowboys fought their way to 1-1.
