When you take a look at the New York Giants' roster heading into 2025, there are only a couple of players that come to mind as players you could build the franchise around for the future.
You may be thinking of Malik Nabers, Abdul Carter, and Jaxson Dart, who are younger and have promise. Yes, those are certainly players Big Blue will consider when constructing their roster for the future, but don't forget about veteran nose tackle Dexter Lawrence II, who is established.
Sexy Dexy is entering his seventh year in the league and is already a two-time second-team All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler at the age of 27. Lawrence has totaled 310 tackles, 30 sacks, five forced fumbles, and 11 pass deflections in 92 games played.

The former first-round pick out of Clemson in 2019 has been nothing short of amazing for the Giants since entering the league. And while all of this is great, he was recognized in another way that may mean more to Giants fans, who may be questioning what the future holds for the franchise.
B/R ranks Dexter Lawrence II the ninth best player to build a team around
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently ranked the 15 franchise players in the NFL entering the 2025 season based on proven production, positional value, versatility, and upside. In the article, Lawrence II was ranked ninth, which should have Giants fans excited as they head into the 2025 season.
Knox adds that while players like Jalen Carter and Kobie Turner are ascending stars in the league, they still have more to prove; Lawrence II is more established, being only 27 years old. Sexy Dexy's experience and age make him a valuable player to the G-Men, and regardless of the franchise's direction throughout this rebuild, general manager Joe Schoen needs to ensure he is untouchable.
In order to reward Lawrence for his efforts, the team recently gave him $3 million in bonus incentives for the upcoming season, further solidifying he's their guy.
Coming off a nine-sack and a third straight Pro Bowl season, who's become a fan favorite in New York, you have to think Sexy Dexy will continue to be the heart and soul of the Giants on and off the field for years to come, which will help fill the MetLife Stadium seats on Sundays.
