Although he may not have played the last two weeks due to concussion protocol, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart’s impressive rookie campaign is nothing to shy away from. And it’s not just people within Big Blue’s building who’ve noticed; it’s everyone.
The G-Men got the steal of last year’s draft, trading up to pick No. 25 to grab the former Ole Miss standout. He’s impressed on and off the field as one of this team’s leaders, and he’s done it short-handed. You have to think owner John Mara and general manager Joe Schoen are pleased with what they’ve seen from Dart and happy he’ll be around for years to come.
While Dart has impressed everyone around the Giants’ facilities this year, he’s also stood out across the league. He’s getting the national recognition he deserves from the media and from those outside the building, which should be an even stronger selling point to the franchise’s next head coach.
Jaxson Dart rises fast in ESPN’s 2025 NFL re-draft
ESPN's Mel Kiper and Field Yates released their 2025 NFL re-drafts, where they each had Dart going in their top five. It's a big move up from pick No. 25. Kiper had the Tennessee Titans taking Dart No. 1 overall, over Cam Ward, and Yates had the 22-year-old still going to the Giants third overall, instead of Abdul Carter.
Action Jaxson looks every bit like the Rookie of the Year. This season, he's thrown for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions while rushing for 317 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in just seven starts. He was also named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October and is the first Giant to earn this honor since 2014, when Odell Beckham Jr. won it.
After missing the last two games, it appears that Dart will be healthy for Big Blue's Week 13 matchup against the New England Patriots on Monday Night. If Dart gets the start, it will be the first time since Mika Kafka took over as the team's interim head coach.
Although the G-Men have already been eliminated from playoff contention and Jameis Winston has been playing well, if Dart starts, Kafka will be looking for the first-year signal caller to return to the form he was in before he got hurt in Week 10.
Regardless, it's safe to say the future is bright beyond this season with Dart under center for the New York Giants and a healthy supporting cast around him.
