Just a couple of weeks ago, the New York Giants' head coaching search had a much different tone to it. In fact, the entire coaching cycle was of a different feel. There weren't necessarily any runaway-type candidates available.

And then, the Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh. Just like that, things got real interesting for the teams holding vacancies. The Giants and their fan base immediately had hope -- bigger and better than ever.

The latest from ESPN Giants beat reporter Jordan Raanan is also reason for Giants fans to get excited. Along with stating that Harbaugh likely has it down to the Giants, Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons in terms of his top suitors, Raanan had this little nugget:

"This is going to start moving quickly. It's not out of the question that Harbaugh visits all three teams by the end of the week."

Well, then. Things just got even more real.

The Giants could have John Harbaugh as their next head coach within a week's time

If Harbaugh indeed visits all three teams by the end of this week, that's insinuating three interviews, of course. And, if he's offered the job in all three cities (which isn't out of the question) then he'll have his pick.

How soon could we find out his landing spot? It doesn't seem far fetched to believe he could have his next job in a week's worth of time, if not less. There isn't much else the Giants would need to know after meeting with Harbaugh.

It's pretty safe to assume that all three of the above teams would more than welcome Harbaugh in as their next head coach, so at this point, the ball might be in his court. That goes unspoken, of course, but let's call it like it is. Harbaugh is going to have his pick of where he wants to go.

And, just as many Giants fans have to be thinking, Harbaugh couldn't possibly want any other job more so than New York, right?

The Giants have their franchise quarterback firmly established in Jaxson Dart. The Titans have Cam Ward, who improved over the second half of the season, but still has a ways to go. Atlanta has Michael Penix Jr. coming off an injury and, even before he went down, Penix had question marks.

That, alone, should be enough to warrant Harbaugh picking New York. But, the Giants also have some pieces in place on both sides of the ball, including a pass rush.

How soon will we find out the end to this story? It appears ... soon.
