Legendary New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning reportedly didn't receive enough votes to get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (HOF). He was among the 15 finalists for the Class of 2026 but will unfortunately have to wait at least another season to be enshrined.

The Athletic's Ian O'Connor and Dan Duggan revealed that Manning "did not make the cut" ($) ... again. This marks the second consecutive year the two-time Super Bowl winner fell short of the 80 percent approval rate of the selection committee.

It's incredibly disappointing to know that Manning won't have the privilege of putting on a gold jacket this coming summer. His résumé stacks up with any of the other candidates. Yet, Giants fans have now seen him left off the island that is Canton, Ohio, twice.

Giants fans erupt over Eli Manning being snubbed from Hall of Fame (again)

You cannot tell the story of this century of the NFL without Manning. He led one of the most storied franchies in major North American sports to two championships, including one in true David versus Goliath fashion. Yet, apparently, that doesn't hold much weight.

Titles and narrative aside, Manning has the accolades of a Hall of Famer. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2004 draft is one of just six players in history with multiple Super Bowl MVPs, plus four Pro Bowl nods. He also took home the NFL's most prestigious individual honor in 2016: Walter Payton Man of the Year.

Moreover, Manning's counting stats can be compared to virtually any of the greatest signal-callers ever. As of this writing, here's where he ranks in the following metrics all-time:

  • 11th in passing yards (57,023)
  • 11th in passing touchdowns (366)
  • Tied for 12th in game-winning drives (37)
  • Tied for 15th in wins (117)

What more must Manning do to achieve the eternal football glory? He embodies everything the HOF is — on and off the field. His star power transcends the gridiron, illustrated by the staying power of him remaining in the limelight well after hanging up the cleats in 2021.

The biggest knocks on Manning are his .500 career win-loss record and his tendency to throw interceptions. Nevertheless, others have made it to the Hall with the same counterarguments. Do with that information what you will.
