The New York Giants are coming off an embarrassing loss, blowing a large fourth-quarter lead before falling to the Denver Broncos 33-32. Despite the loss, New York’s promising rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart put together another game that has people believing. Dart has even turned some doubters into believers after his latest outing.

One of those new believers is a player the rookie quarterback just faced off against: Broncos defender Nik Bonitto. After four quarters against Dart, the Broncos current sack leader joined the Up & Adams Show and gave the rookie some respect. Bonitto gave Dart credit, admitting he was a lot better than Denver thought, praising the quarterback’s feel for the game, and ability to make plays on the move.

Nik Bonitto admits Jaxson Dart was better than Broncos expected

This coming from Bonitto will be a bit surprising for Giants fans, because the defender had a lot to say about New York before and after the game. Bonitto called Giants fans delusional, after their reaction to fellow Broncos defender Jonathon Cooper’s comments about Dart. After the game, Bonitto took to social media with a post that has since been deleted, to call out Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter for not seeing him after the game.

In the end, everything unfolded how things usually do in sports: words were exchanged, and respect was earned on the field. Dart got the respect of Broncos defenders by throwing for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and rushing for 11 yards and an additional touchdown. The rookie would have loved to not thrown an interception, and most importantly, win the game, but he still earned the respect of his peers.

Dart and the Giants now have to turn this abysmal collapse into a learning moment, and a stepping stone. New York is now 2-2 with its rookie quarterback under center, but the team isn’t catching anyone by surprise anymore.
