You'll have to forgive New York Giants fans for getting carried away over rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, but they've needed something to look forward to for years. He's only played in two preseason games, but the results are so promising, it's hard not to get excited about what the 22-year-old can do with Big Blue.
His first preseason game was impressive: 12/19 for 154 yards, one touchdown pass, and a 106.0 quarterback rating. And if his first showing was impressive, his second was downright elite: 14/16 for 137 yards, and two total touchdowns (one passing and one rushing), with a 123.2 QBR. Both games resulted in wins where the offense scored over 30 points. So yes, it's okay to get excited.

Even though football is a total team effort, Dart has rightfully been at the center of most of the attention. He's been receiving praise from all over, but perhaps the best analysis came from veteran journeyman Zach Pascal, who's not safe for work analysis of the rookie QB will have Big Blue Nation fired up.
Giants WR Zach Pascal gives perfect NSFW praise for Jaxson Dart
There might be no one more excited about Dart's progress than Pascal. When speaking to Giants beat writer Pat Leonard about the rookie, the 30-year-old had the most electric response possible:
“I ain’t gonna lie: He’s talented. He’s talented as f**k," the eighth-year veteran said about Dart. “I’m blessed to be able to be in camp with him, but I’m pretty sure later in his future career, he’s gonna be one of them ones.”
Not much to unwrap there. It's pretty obvious Pascal finds Dart to be pretty... talented.
Dart was supposed to sit, develop, and wait his turn. Instead, he’s doing everything he can to flip the plan on its head, making it impossible to ignore what's happening. It’s not just the stats, either. It’s the way the offense clicks when he’s out there. He just looks calm, confident, and in complete control. It's exactly the kind of problem you want to have if you’re Brian Daboll.
The veteran receiver might’ve said it best, but he’s definitely not the only one thinking it. Jaxson Dart looks talented as... well, what Pascal said — and if the preseason is any indication, the Giants may have finally found a quarterback worth believing in since Eli Manning. Talk about an energy switch-up.
