Jaxson Dart's most underrated weapon praised by ESPN (and it's not Malik Nabers)

Underrated, you say?

NY Giants fans are looking forward to what the Jaxson Dart era has to offer. Fortunately, the Ole Miss rookie has talented weapons to throw to, which should hopefully help him out. We all know about Malik Nabers and what he can do but the Giants have another player on the team that Aaron Schatz of ESPN believes is underrated.

That player is Darius Slayton, who Schatz tabbed as the most underrated wide receiver in the NFL. Schatz discussed how, despite Slayton being a fifth-round pick in 2019 and never being a superstar, he's been productive in the Giants' mostly lackluster offenses over the years.

Jaxson Dart could turn Darius Slayton into a breakout star

Slayton has been a solid contributor in the Giants' offense since joining the team in 2019. His career-high in receiving yards is 770, which he accomplished in 2023 and his career-high in touchdowns is eight, which he had as a rookie in 2019. Considering he's done all of this with less-than-stellar quarterback situations, that's quite impressive, to say the least.

While Nabers is going to be the household name on the Giants' roster, that could absolutely work in Slayton's favor. While defenses zero in on slowing down the former LSU superstar, Slayton will be able to break free and be open for Dart to throw to.

While, no, Dart won't be the starter right away, the hope is that he becomes the Giants starting quarterback. And when he does, he can hopefully continue to make Nabers one of the scariest targets in the league and that Slayton can become one of the sneakiest weapons.

If Slayton could produce at the level he did with the likes of Daniel Jones and Tommy DeVito throwing to him, just imagine what he can do when Dart finally takes over and becomes the franchise quarterback. This connection could become one of the most underrated duos in the league and Giants fans hope that's exactly what plays out.
