Draft prospects love to say they don’t care where they end up, but let’s be honest, that’s never been true. It’s a nice, safe answer to keep every door open, but of course some cities are more appealing than others, and some situations you’d rather avoid entirely.
Just ask Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who’s very much in the mix at No. 5 for the New York Giants. When he spoke with the media Friday at the NFL Combine, the 20-year-old delivered one of the funniest interviews of the week. Giants fans might not love the idea of spending a first-round pick on a running back, but the second he inadvertently took a shot at the Cowboys, the odds of him winning over Big Blue Nation shot up.

When asked about how he'd feel about joining the Cowboys, Love had an all-time response: "I mean, Cowboys are great, my dad's a Steelers fan, and he doesn't like the Cowboys, but I really don't care."
Nothing too crazy, but after an awkward pause, a reporter followed up with another question, “What would it be like wearing the star on your helmet?”
And his response to that was the best response a future Giant could give: “Um, I mean... sh*t," Love said while laughing, "I’m just blessed to go anywhere. It’d be an honor to wear the star or any other team as well.”
You have to watch the whole interaction below because it's an absolute riot. Any time a prospect can slam the Cowboys, it's a good day in North Jersey:

Not only does he all but hate the idea of going to Dallas, but he publicly stated he hopes to hear his name called when the G-Men are on the clock. It's time to start learning Love, Giants fans.
Jeremiyah Love just made things interesting at No. 5 for the Giants
The last time the Giants took a running back in the top five, it was Saquon Barkley. Whether that worked out depends on who you ask, and that’s exactly why fans get a little uneasy when another RB gets mocked to them this high.
Add in the fact that New York doesn’t exactly need another back with Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. already on the roster, and it’s easy to see why Love feels more like a luxury than anything else.
However, it doesn’t hurt that the 2025 Doak Walker Award winner (best RB in college football) just showed out at the combine with a 4.36 in the 40. Not only is he dominating the tests, but he also just happens to be the ideal fit for a John Harbaugh-style offense.
Not every Giants fan is going to love the idea of drafting an RB with the fifth pick (pun intended), but his physical running style, three-down versatility, sure hands, and elite speed and explosiveness -- he averaged nearly seven yards per carry over the past two years -- make it a lot easier to justify.
So you’re telling me the runaway best running back in the class wants to play for the G-Men and already comes pre-wired to hate the Cowboys? That might be enough to sway a few Giants fans on the idea of taking him fifth overall in April.
