Nobody has more pressure entering the 2026 season for the New York Giants than general manager Joe Schoen.
Schoen was seen as the scapegoat when the Giants kept him as their general manager after firing head coach Brian Daboll midway through last season. But as the 46-year-old enters his fifth season as New York's GM, he has no excuses, especially after winning the John Harbaugh sweepstakes early in the offseason.
And while they're ton of roster holes he needs to fix after another disastrous season, Schoen, though, should be glad that he solved one problem that has plagued the Giants for years.
Joe Schoen is happy to have the quarterback spot solved entering the NFL Combine
Schoen met with reporters on Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and expressed a sigh of relief knowing that he has the quarterback situation solved with Jaxson Dart after having a bit of uncertainty at that position over the last couple of offseasons.
"It is nice to have that piece in place," Schoen said. "To have a rookie quarterback that played well his rookie year and know who you're going to build around, it's an exciting time for us."

Entering last offseason, there were a ton of questions about what the Giants would do at the quarterback position. While they signed veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, New York still needed a long-term answer at quarterback and did just that when they rolled the dice and traded up to the 25th overall pick from the Houston Texans to select Dart.
That gamble clearly paid off as Dart compiled a great rookie season for the G-Men, passing for over 2,220 yards with 15 touchdown passes, nine rushing scores to just five interceptions in 12 starts.
With the Giants having their long-awaited answer at the quarterback position, Schoen now must use the fifth overall pick in this year's draft and in free agency to build around him. And while it remains to be seen what he will do with that draft pick and in free agency, Joe Schoen seems very relieved that he has solved the most important part of any NFL roster...the quarterback position.
