John Harbaugh took over as the head coach of the New York Giants this offseason, after spending the last 18 years leading the Baltimore Ravens. While the head coach is now focused on his current job, he has brought quite a few people with him from Baltimore — players and coaches. That’s typically the case when a coach moves to a new team, and Harbaugh may not be done.
At least NFL reporter Ralph Vacchiano doesn’t think he should be done. In a recent piece for FOX Sports, Vacchiano named one player that each NFC team should trade for during the 2026 Draft. For the Giants, the writer suggested that New York sends a 2026 fourth-round pick (105th) and a 2027 conditional seventh-round pick to the Ravens for veteran corner Marlon Humphrey.
FOX Sports proposes a Giants trade for Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey
The rationale for this trade idea was simple: New York needs help in the secondary and Baltimore will be fine if they parted ways with Humphrey, who is entering the final year of his contract. Vacchiano laid that all out in his explanation for the proposal.
"The thinnest position on the Giants’ roster might be corner, where veteran Paulson Adebo has battled injuries the past two seasons, Deonte Banks has been a bust, and they’re counting a lot on the flier they took on Greg Newsome. Humphrey, a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, will be 30 and carries a $15.25 million salary, so he might not cost more than a Day 3 pick. The Ravens will be OK in the secondary without him."Ralph Vacchiano (FOX Sports)
Humphrey is entering his 10th year in the league, having only played for the Ravens after being drafted in the first round of the 2017 Draft. In Baltimore, he has been one of the game’s top corners, making four Pro Bowls and earning two First-Team All-Pro selections. Turning 30 in July, Humphrey may not currently be at the top of his game, but he’s still a solid starter, and someone the Giants could definitely use in the secondary.
Vacchiano also thinks this trade could be even bigger, with New York adding Kayvon Thibodeaux into the mix. John Harbaugh recently made it clear that Thibodeaux, like everyone, is tradeable. Maybe the edge defender could be on the move to Harbaugh’s former team, in exchange for some picks and Marlon Humphrey.
